Exploring 2018 Rolex 24 with P1Analysis

Ahead of the upcoming 2019 Rolex 24, we'd like to share some explorations of the 2018 race through P1Software's P1Analysis v2 reports.

Our customers receive interactive, single-page reports directly emailed to their laptops, tablets, or cellphones while at the track or at the office for easy study.

Land Motorsport's Penalty

One of the talked about, and unusual events in GTD was IMSA's five-minute stop and go penalty given to the #29 Land Motorsport Audi R8, whose refueling times were deemed unacceptably fast. Read Marshall Pruett's detailed report in Racer magazine's Feb 1, 2018 PRUETT: The strange Land Motorsport penalty.

We'll take a short exploration using P1Analysis's interactive charts.

The Hero Gap Chart allows us to visualize the time gaps to a reference car - in this case, the winning car #11. Below we zoom in on the first 303 laps of the time gaps to the eventual GTD winning #11 GRT Gasser Lamborghini Huracan. We see from about lap 170, #29 pulls away from the other GTD competitors.

The Pit Lane Chart stacked bar chart below shows the total time each competitor spent in pit lane, summed from each of the stops.
